New Fire Station Replaces the City’s oldest Fire Station. The City of Minneapolis hired trusted design partner Hay Dobbs to program, space plan, and represent the City in the development of a new Fire Station #1 to serve downtown Minneapolis. The Station will fit into the lower levels of a full block, mixed use development designed by ESG. Hay Dobbs met with fire department, facilities, and administrative staff at length to discuss full-time staff needs, individual department needs, adjacency, storage, drying, training and vehicular access in the dense downtown city grid. Hay Dobbs developed a multi-story plan that was integrated.

Chanhassen Station expands the existing SouthWest Transit commuter bus stop in downtown Chanhassen and extends Market Street through historic downtown Chanhassen, connecting two significant areas of commerce. Hay Dobbs, a recognized leader in Transit Oriented Development planning and design, has been retained to work with fwd |A+U, NY, to provide consulting, planning and design services for the Mellon’s Orchard Strategic Plan. The plan will provide a TOD framework for redevelopment of key parcels in the East Liberty neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Located near the East Libery Station of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Busway, Mellon’s Orchard is a key development site in the East Liberty neighborhood of Pittsburgh. As one of the last remaining super-blocks in the district, Hay Dobbs will help to define how Mellon’s Orchard.
